Assassin's Creed Unveils Unexpected Attack on Titan Event for Holiday Season
In a surprising crossover event that breaks usual predictions, the game developer has revealed an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, including complimentary additional story content for Shadows players.
Strange Adventure Disclosed
According to the authorized statement, "A strange encounter draws characters Naoe and Yasuke into a original adventure, where whispers of prohibited ceremonies and fearsome metamorphoses reverberate through the obscurity." The narrative features a "unusually garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the characters with journeying into the Crystalline Cavern—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to save her ally from a secret group.
The mission focuses on "bizarre trials and a fearsome enemy" and is open to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Places and Transformations
The trailer features the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was formerly where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The preview finishes with a powerful sequence showing a character, likely the hostage, changing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Items and Bonus Material
Players who successfully complete the quest will obtain an special katana together with several objects concealed throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-inspired costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Special arms
- Survey Corps vehicle
Newest Free Story Update
This release also adds the game's newest complimentary story addition, titled "A Puzzlement."
